All the Reads be Mine

TL;DR? Lots of new ebooks, most of which are New Age/spirituality books by various publishers. Also: reading. A bunch and bunch of reading to be done.

You saw that correctly, all the reads are mine this week! I suppose they could be yours, too, I’m feeling somewhat generous.

You ready to get overwhelmed with le Chakras and New Age-iness? Here you go:

  • I’m halfway through Tarot and the Chakras. I received it via Netgalley as an ebook and so far it’s quite informative. A little too informative in the sense that how dafuq am I going to remember all of this?
  • I also got La Santa Muerta and Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Chakras.
  • Quite some time ago I got, also from Netgalley, Anodea Judith’s Chakra Yoga, a book that I am not too thrilled about (I thought I was requesting the Chakra and Tarot book when I requested this) but am still going to give it a fair shot. I absolutely love the study of Chakra’s and yoga, so the two of them If I don’t like it this is a book that I will pass on to a close friend who is majorly into New Age stuffies.
  • I’m rereading Candle Magic and I ordered  Wicca Candle Magic: A Beginner’s Guide to Practicing Wiccan Candle Magic and Wicca Crystal Magic: A Beginner’s Guide to Practicing Wiccan Crystal Magic, both of which should be arriving anytime today. I’ll probably put down the candle magic book I’m reading now to read one of the new ones. While I’m not Wiccan, and probs won’t be, I like exploring my spirituality which, so far, is all over the place.
Blargh, now I have to sit down and choose which ones to read. I’m leaning toward continuing Tarot and the Chakras and Candle/Crystal Magic. I usually go through phases where I prefer fiction over nonfiction or the other way around. Lately my preference for non-fiction has been New Age-y books. And by lately I mean the past few years.
I’m thrilled that I get to review Llewellyn’s two books that I got via Netgalley, especially considering they’ve turned me down twice now for a print book to review. Shoutout to Llewellyn, who should totes take me under their belt and give me Tarot cards to review.
As for other Bookish news:

  • I have, for review, The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy as you know, if you’ve been following my site. I hope to Bob I can finish it this week and review next week because I know that a lot of you are interested in it and I’d love to tell you what I thought about that thang. However, the  other non fiction books will probs trump Fangirl’s at least for a bit.
  • I started Snow like Ashes and was quite happy with it, except that it is a book way too easy to put down…and not pick back up again. If a book is that easy to put down then I have reservations about it, even though I enjoy it. Time to do some soul-searching when I come to books like this 😀
  • I’ve been practicing Tarot but not keeping up with it. On the plus side, I got Happy Tarot. No joke, those cards are seriously happy, even the Hermit(ish). I still have every intention of drawing cards for you writer’s out there. Maybe it could get me back into writing, too. For now, however, my writing outlet is blogging.
